Participate in a Rescue Operation
This course covers the competency required for individuals to participate in rescue operations as a member of a rescue team such as emergency services and/or volunteer organisations. The person may be under supervision in a team but may be responsible for completing individual tasks relating to a rescue. The course underpins a wide range of specialist rescue operations and environmental situations, which may include industrial, rural, bush and extreme environmental conditions.
Typically, people performing this role have completed induction or recruit training and are commencing work as a member of an operational team.

Important information prior to enrolment
+ Course Delivery
This course will be delivered in the workplace or at an Allens Training Pty Ltd or Third party facility.
+ Entry Requirements
Physical capability to be able to meet the demands of the practical demonstration skills.
Capable of working under supervision in a team while being physically able to complete individual tasks relating to rescue, autonomously, in a range of simulated and real locations.
Please Note: This unit has a pre-requisite requirement of HLTAID003 - Provide first aid or HLTAID011 Provide First Aid (* only if undertaking training related to the fire sector).
- The fire sector is those sections of government departments, statutory authorities or organisations that have a responsibility under jurisdictional arrangements for the delivery of firefighting and fire management services.
+ Course Duration
Face to Face – 7 hours (minimum) – full face to face course
+ Assessment Requirements
Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks. These are detailed in the sections following.
+ Certificate Renewal Requirements
No industry recommended renewal is identified on the certificate, employers are recommended to consult with stakeholders to identify appropriate training periods.
