Course Description

The unit MSMWHS201 – Conduct Hazard Analysis – equips students with the essential skills and knowledge to identify and assess workplace hazards, helping to ensure a safer and more compliant work environment. This unit is critical for industries such as manufacturing, construction, and mining, where proactive hazard identification and risk management are vital for maintaining safety standards.

Throughout the course, learners will be trained to recognise potential hazards in the workplace, evaluate the associated risks, and recommend appropriate control measures. The unit covers key principles of hazard analysis, including understanding the types of workplace hazards (such as physical, chemical, and biological), conducting thorough inspections, and using established risk assessment frameworks to prioritise hazards. Students will also gain experience in documenting findings, implementing corrective actions, and communicating risks effectively to team members and supervisors.

This unit is ideal for workers across various industries who are responsible for maintaining workplace safety, including safety officers, team leaders, and general staff involved in safety protocols. It provides them with the tools to actively contribute to a safer work environment by identifying risks before they lead to incidents.

By completing MSMWHS201, students will be prepared to conduct thorough hazard analyses in their workplace, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and reducing the likelihood of accidents.
