Course Description

The Course in Verifying the Correct Use of Adrenaline Injector Devices (22579VIC) is a nationally recognised training program designed to equip individuals with the essential skills and knowledge required to verify and assist in the correct use of adrenaline injector devices in emergency situations. This course is particularly relevant for professionals working in education, childcare, healthcare, and community services, where responding to severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) is a critical responsibility. It ensures participants are prepared to confidently support the safe and effective use of adrenaline injectors, such as EpiPens®, during life-threatening emergencies.

Participants will learn about the causes and symptoms of anaphylaxis, how to recognise an anaphylactic reaction and the correct procedure for administering an adrenaline injector. The course covers the practical steps involved in verifying the correct usage of these devices, ensuring that individuals are able to act quickly and correctly in high-pressure situations. Additionally, learners will understand the importance of emergency response plans and how to implement them to minimise the risks associated with severe allergic reactions.

This course is ideal for educators, childcare workers, healthcare professionals, first aiders, and any individuals responsible for the well-being of people who may be at risk of anaphylaxis. Upon completion, participants will be able to confidently verify the use of adrenaline injector devices and provide critical support in emergency situations, potentially saving lives by ensuring that adrenaline is administered swiftly and accurately.
