Course Description

The Non-Accredited Sports Trainer Refresher Course provides essential ongoing training for individuals who already have experience as sports trainers and wish to refresh their knowledge and skills. This course is designed for sports trainers working with athletes at all levels, including community sports, amateur leagues, and professional teams, to ensure they stay updated on best practices in injury prevention, treatment, and athlete care.

Throughout the course, participants will review critical areas such as injury management, strapping and taping techniques, emergency response, and first aid for common sports-related injuries. The training covers updates on best practices for athlete safety, rehabilitation techniques, and the latest guidelines in sports medicine. Participants will also practice assessing injuries, managing on-field emergencies, and supporting the health and well-being of athletes during training and competition.

This refresher course is ideal for experienced sports trainers who want to keep their skills current without the need for formal accreditation or certification renewal.

Upon completing the Non-Accredited Sports Trainer Refresher Course, participants will have up-to-date knowledge and enhanced confidence in managing sports injuries and maintaining athlete safety. This training is crucial for ensuring that sports trainers remain effective in their roles, contributing to the ongoing health and performance of athletes.

Non-accredited

Sports Trainer Refresher Course 

This course can be delivered/assessed fully online, in the workplace or at facility organised by the training provider.

An individual undertaking this course with Allens Training Pty Ltd will need to demonstrate the following to be eligible for entry:

  • Physical capability to be able to meet the demands of the practical demonstration skills
  • Wearing appropriate attire to allow demonstration of different taping techniques

Online study options: students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet or other electronic devices with access to the internet to complete the online studies.

Course durations can vary for multiple reasons, so the durations below are the minimum possible amount.

Face-to-Face Face to Face contact time of at least 4 Hours
Online with face-to-face assessment Face to Face contact time of at least 1 Hour
Fully Online - It is expected students may complete the course within 3-4 hours (depending on experience levels) This can be completed over a number of sessions. Your course progress will be saved.

Students completing fully online are expected to complete all learning and assessment activities within six (6) months of enrolment. Failure to complete all requirements may result in your enrolment being disabled/cancelled.

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.

This certificate does not require renewal

For delivery options including a face to face component 

Assessments conducted during face-to-face training session(s) include: 

Performance Task – Students will demonstrate three of the below:

  • Finger Taping
  • Thumb Taping
  • Elbow Taping
  • Ankle Taping
  • Knee Taping
  • Achillies Tendon Taping

Theory assessment -   A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice questions.

 

For fully online delivery option

This course requires the student to submit 3 videos demonstrating the correct taping technique for

  • Thumb
  • Knee
  • Ankle

Please Note:  this is a non-accredited course and upon successful completion, you will receive a Certificate of Completion.
