Course Description

The Non-Accredited Manual Handling for Personal Care Workers course provides essential training for individuals working in aged care, disability services, healthcare, and community care settings, where manual handling is a routine part of delivering hands-on care. This course is designed to help personal care workers perform manual tasks safely, minimising the risk of injury to both themselves and the clients they support.

Throughout the course, participants will learn safe manual handling techniques, including how to lift, reposition, and transfer clients using proper body mechanics and equipment, such as hoists, slide sheets, and transfer belts. The training focuses on reducing the risks associated with manual tasks, maintaining correct posture, and following workplace safety procedures. Participants will also gain knowledge on how to assess risks, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and apply best practices to prevent injuries during daily care tasks.

This course is ideal for personal care workers, healthcare assistants, and support workers who regularly engage in manual handling activities as part of their caregiving duties.

Upon completing the Non-Accredited Manual Handling for Personal Care Workers course, participants will be equipped with practical skills to handle clients safely and confidently, promoting a safer work environment and reducing the risk of injuries for both workers and clients.
