Course Description

The Non-Accredited Enteral Feeding and Management course provides essential training for individuals who support clients requiring enteral feeding, typically in healthcare settings such as aged care, disability services, and home care environments. This course is designed for care workers, support staff, and family carers responsible for assisting with tube feeding and managing clients' nutritional needs.

Throughout the course, participants will learn the fundamentals of enteral feeding, including the different types of feeding tubes (such as gastrostomy or nasogastric tubes), correct techniques for administering enteral nutrition, and ensuring that feeding procedures are safe and hygienic. The training covers the preparation of feeding equipment, monitoring for complications such as tube blockages or infections, and following care plans designed by healthcare professionals. Emphasis is placed on recognising potential issues, maintaining client comfort, and ensuring accurate documentation.

This course is ideal for carers and support staff who work with individuals who rely on enteral feeding and want to build confidence in managing this process safely and effectively.

Upon completing the Non-Accredited Enteral Feeding and Management course, participants will be equipped with the practical knowledge and skills to assist clients with enteral feeding, ensuring proper nutrition and client well-being.
