Course Description

The Non-Accredited Seizure Management course provides essential training for individuals who support clients with seizure disorders, such as epilepsy, in settings including aged care, disability services, education, and home care. This course is designed for carers, support workers, and healthcare aides who need to respond to seizure events and manage the ongoing care of clients with seizure conditions.

Throughout the course, participants will learn how to recognise different types of seizures, respond appropriately during a seizure event, and provide post-seizure care to ensure client safety and well-being. The training covers essential skills such as maintaining a safe environment during seizures, providing reassurance, administering seizure management plans, and knowing when to seek emergency medical help. Participants will also learn how to follow individual care plans, document seizure activity accurately, and communicate with healthcare professionals.

This course is ideal for carers and support staff who regularly work with individuals prone to seizures and want to gain confidence in managing seizure events without the need for formal accreditation.

Upon completing the Non-Accredited Seizure Management course, participants will have the knowledge and practical skills to manage seizures safely and effectively, ensuring the best care for clients while minimising risks. This training is a valuable resource for those providing direct care in non-accredited care roles, enhancing both client safety and carer confidence.
