R U OK? Day – A Simple Question That Could Change a Life

💬 R U OK? Day – A Simple Question That Could Change a Life
Have you ever noticed a friend, co-worker or family member acting a little differently? Maybe they’ve been quiet, withdrawn, or not quite themselves and you wondered, "Should I say something?"
R U OK? Day, held this year on Thursday 11th September, is a national reminder that we don’t need to be mental health experts to check in with someone we care about. Sometimes, just asking, “Are you OK?” can be the first step to helping someone feel seen, heard, and supported.
🧠 Conversations Can Save Lives
We all face life's ups and downs stress, grief, health issues, relationship challenges, or workplace pressures. And while professional support is crucial, early help often starts with a simple conversation.
R U OK? Day encourages all Australians to reach out and check in, not just on the day, but all year round. It's about connection before crisis.
But what happens if someone says, “No, I’m not OK”? Would you know what to do next?
