Course Description

The HAZMAT Course (PUAFIR306 & PUAFIR324) is designed for individuals who need to safely identify, handle, and respond to hazardous materials (HAZMAT) incidents. This training is essential for emergency responders, industrial workers, and personnel in hazardous environments, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to assess risks, implement containment strategies, and follow safety regulations.

Participants will learn how to identify hazardous substances, use protective equipment, and apply decontamination procedures in line with workplace and regulatory requirements. The course covers risk assessment, incident response planning, and effective communication during HAZMAT emergencies. By completing this training, learners will gain a strong understanding of how to mitigate risks and protect themselves, their teams, and the environment from hazardous material exposure.

This nationally recognised course is highly relevant for firefighters, emergency services personnel, and industries where handling dangerous goods is a routine task. Successful completion of the HAZMAT training provides a Statement of Attainment for PUAFIR306 – Identify, detect, and monitor hazardous materials and PUAFIR324 – Render hazardous materials incidents safe, ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety regulations. Whether you are looking to advance in emergency response roles or meet workplace safety requirements, this course delivers essential skills to manage hazardous situations effectively.
