Course Description
The Non-Accredited Anaphylaxis and Epi-Pen Information Session provides participants with vital knowledge on recognising and responding to anaphylaxis, a life-threatening allergic reaction, and the proper use of an EpiPen. This session is designed for parents, caregivers, teachers, and community members who support individuals at risk of severe allergic reactions.
Throughout the session, participants will learn about the causes and symptoms of anaphylaxis, including common allergens like food, insect stings, and medications. The training focuses on the immediate actions to take during an anaphylactic emergency, such as administering an EpiPen (epinephrine auto-injector), calling for emergency services, and monitoring the individual until help arrives. Participants will also gain practical knowledge on EpiPen storage, handling, and usage.
This session is ideal for anyone who may need to respond to an anaphylactic emergency, particularly those in caregiving or educational roles.
Upon completing the Non-Accredited Anaphylaxis and Epi-Pen Information Session, participants will be better prepared to recognise the signs of anaphylaxis and respond confidently, ensuring the timely and effective use of an EpiPen. This training is crucial for safeguarding the well-being of individuals at risk of severe allergic reactions.
