Course Description

The CPR & LVR course, which includes the units HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and UETDRMP007 Perform Rescue from a Live LV Panel, is designed to equip participants with essential life-saving skills and the ability to perform low voltage (LV) electrical rescues. This course is ideal for electricians, electrical workers, and anyone working in environments where electrical hazards are present, ensuring they are prepared to respond to both medical emergencies and electrical incidents.

Together, the CPR & LVR course provides comprehensive training in emergency response, equipping participants with the skills needed to handle both cardiac and electrical emergencies. This course is essential for maintaining workplace safety and compliance, making it a vital qualification for those working with live electrical systems.

Units Delivered

The following units will be included in your certificate:

HLTAID009

Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

UETDRMP007

Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel

This course can be delivered/assessed in the workplace or at facility organised by the training provider.

Course durations can vary for multiple reasons, so the durations below are the minimum possible amount.

Refresher Face to Face contact time of at least 3 Hours 30 Mins
Face-to-Face Face to Face contact time of at least 5 Hours
Online with face-to-face assessment Face to Face contact time of at least 30 Mins

An individual undertaking this course with Allens Training Pty Ltd will need to demonstrate the following to be eligible for entry:

  • Provide evidence of holding the required pre-requisite unit of UETDREL006 Work safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker
  • Physical capability to be able to meet the demands of the practical demonstration skills including CPR and performing rescue breathing techniques on manikins Physical fitness to be able to meet the demands of the practical demonstration skills including manual handling in the rescue of a mock casualty
  • Sufficient English language, literacy, numeracy and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the course
  • Protective footwear/safety shoes and comfortable/practical clothing must be provided by the student and worn during the practical sessions

Important note: In order to issue an accredited certificate, CPR must be performed on the floor with no exemptions. Participants will be required to demonstrate rescue breathing techniques on manikins. Participants will not have the opportunity to request an exemption from providing rescue breaths if they wish to gain a competent result in the Unit of Competency and/or qualification.

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.

The units have the following recommended renewal periods:

HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation - 12 months

UETDRMP007 - Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel - 12 months
