Course Description
The First Aid / LVR course, which includes HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and UETDRMP007 Perform Rescue from a Live LV Panel, is designed to equip participants with vital first aid and low voltage rescue (LVR) skills. This course is ideal for those working in electrical or high-risk environments, such as electricians, electrical workers, and safety personnel, who need to be prepared to respond to both medical emergencies and electrical incidents.
Together, the First Aid / LVR course provides comprehensive training to ensure that participants are equipped to handle both general first aid and specific electrical rescue situations. Course durations can vary for multiple reasons, so the durations below are the minimum possible amount.
Entry Requirements
An individual undertaking this course with Allens Training Pty Ltd will need to demonstrate the following to be eligible for entry:
- Provide evidence of holding the required pre-requisite unit of either UEECD0007 Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace, or UETDREL006 Work safely in the vicinity of live electrical apparatus as a non-electrical worker, or an existing ESI or Electrotechnology qualification (or equivalent), obtained prior to commencing this training.
- Physical capability to be able to meet the demands of the practical demonstration skills including CPR and performing rescue breathing techniques on manikins Physical fitness to be able to meet the demands of the practical demonstration skills including manual handling in the rescue of a mock casualty.
- Sufficient English language, literacy, numeracy and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the course.
- Protective footwear/safety shoes and comfortable/practical clothing must be provided by the student and worn during the practical sessions.
Important note: In order to issue an accredited certificate, CPR must be performed on the floor with no exemptions. Participants will be required to demonstrate rescue breathing techniques on manikins. Participants will not have the opportunity to request an exemption from providing rescue breaths if they wish to gain a competent result in the Unit of Competency and/or qualification.
Assessment Requirements
Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.
Certificate Renewal Requirements
The units have the following recommended renewal periods:
HLTAID011 - Provide First Aid - 36 months
HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation - 12 months
UETDRMP007 - Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel - 12 months
HLTAID010 - Provide basic emergency life support - 36 months

- Inspection and placement of rescue equipment
- Perform a Low Voltage rescue
- Complete an incident report form
Theory assessment: A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice questions
