The Facility Fire Safety course, comprising units PUAFER001 – Identify, Prevent and Report Potential Facility Emergency Situations, PUAFER002 – Ensure Facility Emergency Prevention Procedures, Systems and Processes are Implemented, PUAFER004 – Respond to Facility Emergencies, PUAFER005 – Operate as Part of an Emergency Control Organisation, PUAFER006 – Lead an Emergency Control Organisation, and PUAFER008 – Confine Small Emergencies in a Facility, delivers comprehensive training for individuals responsible for fire safety and emergency management within a facility. This course is ideal for staff in office buildings, factories, schools, hospitals, and other public or private facilities, ensuring they are equipped to manage and respond to fire risks effectively.

Upon completion of this Facility Fire Safety course, participants will be fully prepared to identify, prevent, and manage fire risks within a facility. They will be able to act as Fire Wardens or Chief Wardens, effectively respond to emergencies, and control small fire incidents, ensuring the safety of all facility occupants and compliance with fire safety regulations.

Additional Information

This course can be delivered/assessed in the workplace or at facility organised by the training provider.

Course durations can vary for multiple reasons, so the durations below are the minimum possible amount.

Face-to-Face Face to Face contact time of at least 14 Hours
Online with face-to-face assessment Face to Face contact time of at least 6 Hours

An individual undertaking this course with Allens Training Pty Ltd will need to demonstrate the following to be eligible for entry:

  • An official form of photo identification (e.g., driver’s licence, passport, or student ID).
  • Protective slip resistant footwear/safety shoes and long pants must be provided by the student and worn during the practical sessions and assessment. 
  • Capability to complete the practical demonstrations for the course, including:
    • Physical capability to handle and use initial response equipment lift and carry some loads using equipment and handle chemical spill kit equipment
    • Visual acuity to distinguish chemical labelling information, plant and pet identification, and manage outside environments under cold and warm conditions
    • Ability to hear or otherwise detect alarms, warnings, or instructions (or use approved alternative alerting methods)

Online learning: Students must have basic digital literacy skills to navigate online platforms, complete assessments, and access course materials. Before enrolment, students should assess their ability to engage in online learning. Support is available where required.

The online learning program can be found in the student portal. Students must have access to a computer, smart phone, tablet or other electronic device with access to the internet to complete the online studies and associated assessment tasks.

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.
